Spanish outlet Marca also stated that the west London outfit were best placed to snap up Ousmane Dembele, who was a free agent following the expiration of his previous contract with Barcelona. Barkley's Miniscule Contribution At Stamford Bridge Last Season Barkley struggled to secure consistent playing time in the Premier League and only occasionally appeared in Thomas Tuchel's team. The wonder, who was born in Liverpool, played for the Blues in just 14 games the previous season, scoring one goal in the process across all competitions. The 28-year-old gave a good account of himself off the bench after he averaged 1.5 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. Uncover: Chelsea attempted to sign a No. 9 forward from South America before Arsenal.

Image
Gabriel Jesus' agent has stated that Chelsea, Arsenal's main Premier League opponents, intervened late to scuttle the North London giants' acquisition of the Brazil striker. Arsenal finalised a £45million deal with the Citizens to bring in Mikel Arteta’s No.1 transfer target, Jesus at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta had worked with the 25-year-old forward while he was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach at the Etihad Stadium and thus knows the player well. Brazil international forward has seemingly settled in quickly to life at the Emirates Stadium, founding back of the net twice in a pre-season friendly win over Nurnberg last week. In the final days, they made a lot of effort to capture him. We had already selected our new project at that time. Jesus' decision to select Arsenal over Chelsea was influenced by Arteta, who persuaded the Brazilian center-forward to join his team at the Emirates Stadium. Jesus told Arsenal's official website, "We chatted a cou...

Thomas Tuchel believes new signing Kalidou Koulibaly will bring “personality” to the Chelsea dressing room. The Senegalese central defender has joined from Napoli on a four-year deal worth around £35m to bolster the Blues’ defensive options. The departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively meant that Chelsea were desperate to add to that back-line and sign players that would make a difference There was a feeling that the club would not be able to complete a deal for Koulibaly as Napoli had no desire to let him leave the club and were prepared to offer him a big new contract However – we managed to convince Napoli into letting the powerhouse leave the club and Koulibaly was given the type of contract that makes him one of the very highest paid in the Premier League And after seeing the powerhouse make the move to the club – Tuchel has opened up and revealed that Koulibaly will bring personality to the club – he said: “I am v...

Barcelona requested Kalidou Koulibaly to wait for them instead of agreeing a move to Stamford Bridge.

Image
Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly was sought after by Napoli, and Chelsea had competition for his services. Barcelona, a powerhouse in Spain, apparently had interest in Koulibaly as well. The Blues and Napoli have reached an agreement for the signing of the 31-year-old, who is expected to join Chelsea this summer. Sport claims that Barcelona asked Koulibaly to postpone his rumored transfer to Chelsea and wait for them instead. However, a €40 million agreement to bring the defender to Thomas Tuchel's team is almost complete. According to Fabrizio Romano, he will likely sign a long-term contract with a compensation package worth €10 million per season. Barcelona are believed to be interested in signing Koulibaly as they view him as a potential replacement for veteran defender Gerard Pique. The 35-year-old has been unable to maintain the consistency and level of performance that has made him a legend at Camp Nou. The Catalan giants will therefore be eager t...

According to the rumors, a €40 million deal for the 31-year-old was completed last night between the two clubs. He is anticipated to arrive in London tonight before his scheduled medicals tomorrow. As Chelsea continues to bolster their roster for the upcoming season, Koulibaly becomes the second high-profile addition after the impending arrival of Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling. The Azurri are believed to have tabled a €6m-a-year deal for the 31-year-old, who has been a central figure at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Koulibaly made 27 appearances for Napoli in Serie A last season, scoring three goals as Luciano Spalletti’s men secured a third-placed finish and a place in the Champions League. Chelsea could strike lucky in their pursuit of Torino ace Gleison Bremer if they meet the club’s asking price – it has been claimed There has been alot of talk over the past few weeks about who Thomas tuchel will look to bring to the club as he seek to add a bit more quality to that back-line over the transfer window. And according to a few reports in the media – Torino’s Bremer is one of the defenders Chelsea could look at signing over the course of the summer window Bremer has been impressive over the past few seasons and is starting to look like a defender that is almost ready to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world – which has led to alot of speculation. Torino chief Urbano Cairo wasn’t able to give a concrete number when asked what that price is – But he does believe Bremer’s worth more than the £59m rated Milan Skriniar who’s PSG bound. Speaking on Bremer’s worth, Torino chief Urbano Cairo said to La7: “Is there a fair price for Bremer? There is, but I don’t...

Koulibaly agent meets with Chelsea, wont join Juventus

Image
This summer, Chelsea is engaged in a defender search that appears to be shifting focus a little. This summer, Thomas Tuchel needs to replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, but as of this writing, neither player has been replaced. Nathan Ake is rumored to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, but they will need to sign at least another center-back. Matthijs De Ligt appears to be a priority target, however, Bayern Munich are also pushing for him and his asking price might be too high anyway. It looks like Chelsea are making backup plans and moving on those plans, having met with the agent of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly over the weekend, according to Sky Sports Italy, as cited by Football Italia. In the same report, it also claims the Sport Italia are saying that Koulibaly will not go to Juventus to replace De Ligt if he leaves, which is what has been reported recently.

Raphinha has been the suggest of significant transfer speculation this summer

Image
Barcelona have submitted a ‘final offer’ for Leeds United winger Raphinha according to reports in Spain, with one of the summer’s most protracted sags set to be coming to an end. All three of Barcelona, Chelsea , and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian, who played a key role in helping Leeds narrowly avoid relegation at the end of last season following Jesse Marsch’s arrival to replace Marcelo Bielsa. The 25-year-old signed for the Yorkshire club in 2020 for a fee of around £17m from Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais, and has gone to score 17 goals in 16 appearances since then. Now Sport in Spain says that Barcelona want to end the saga in one way or another, and have made a final offer of around £47m. That figure is significantly lower than the sum Leeds supposedly want in order to part with their prize asset, and does not match the amount of money Chelsea are willing to pay. The Blues are attempting to reinvigorate their frontline this su...

Chelsea should continue to pursue Nathan Ake this summer

Image
Chelsea  desperately needs new centerbacks. It’s the worst kept secret in football after the departures of Andreas Christensen (Barcelona) and Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid). As the Blues get to set to board the plane and head across the pond to the United States for a preseason tour, they still haven’t filled those gaps along the back line. Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta and Malang Sarr also face uncertain futures, which only serves to further fog the picture at the back for Thomas Tuchel’s side. It cannot go into the 2022/23 campaign with what it has now, which is essentially just Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva and maybe Levi Colwill. The unfortunate reality is that the longer this saga drags on, the more the club will have to pay for defenders as the season inches closer. Chelsea is shopping in an already luxurious market. Thus, a spike in the asking price could see the Blues priced out of a couple of their defensive targets. Todd Boehly needs to continue to pursue a...

Done Deal: Barcelona agreed terms to sign Chelsea 26-year-old defender

Image
La Liga giants, Barcelona have announced the signings of Andreas Christensen on a free transfers. The 26-year-old Danish defender comes in from Chelsea, after his deal expired at Stamford Bridge Christensen refused to sign a new contract with the Blues. Barcelona have also secure the services of AC Milan midfielder Frank Kessie. Both players signed four-year contracts with Nou Camp, with 500 million Euro (£430 million) release clauses. The Ivorian midfielder has played 224 times for the Rossoneri, scoring 39 goals, and last season he assisted the squad in winning its first Serie A trophy in 11 years. Christensen played 161 times for the West London giants after graduating from their junior academy. He also spent two seasons on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach of Germany.

Raheem Sterling’s move to Chelsea is nearing completion.

Image
The Telegraph first reported that the England international has reached a contract agreement with the west London club on Wednesday afternoon. The transfer is anticipated to cost no more than £45 million, which is what Arsenal paid for Gabriel Jesus, and Chelsea is now expecting to finalize a fee with Manchester City in the next 24 to 36 hours. Thomas Tuchel’s side are also hopeful Sterling will join in time to fly to the United States of America on Saturday for their pre-season tour. On paper, the transfer appears to make a lot of sense. Last season, Sterling at City was not a starter for sure, and in a World Cup year, he needs as many minutes as possible. The former Liverpool winger was undoubtedly tempted to sign to terms with Chelsea by their financial offer, in addition to the allure of more playing time. The Telegraph claim that Sterling’s deal will see him earn slightly more than the enormous £300,000-a-week he’s currently on at City. After Romelu Lukaku returns ...
