This Chelsea midfielder was given the opportunity to re-sign with Aston Villa: A wise move for Gerrard?


The Daily Mirror has reported that Ross Barkley, a midfielder for Chelsea, has reportedly been offered a chance to return to Aston Villa. According to reports, the Villans and Everton have both been granted the chance to sign the English playmaker this offseason.

Barkley's Miniscule Contribution At Stamford Bridge Last Season Barkley struggled to secure consistent playing time in the Premier League and only occasionally appeared in Thomas Tuchel's team. The wonder, who was born in Liverpool, played for the Blues in just 14 games the previous season, scoring one goal in the process across all competitions.
The 28-year-old gave a good account of himself off the bench after he averaged 1.5 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He even took care of the ball relatively well as he made 85.1% of his attempted passes in the English top-flight
